Convince yourself
You could say that you have attended enough educational events this year. You could say that this is why you will not take part in SEMPL. You could shrug your shoulders and believe that there is nothing new you would learn. Or, you could even decide that you do not have the time.
But, it could just happen that the participants of this year's SEMPL will be better informed than you. That you will not hear about the new trends in consumers' habits. That the hottest client-understanding methodology, the Touchpoints, will remain just a hearsay concept instead of becoming a valuable tool. New trends in technology, communication and customer approach will pass you by. You will forego a lot of knowledge.
