Competitive categories
- Category A - Strategic use of the media mix
This category encompasses communication projects that are strategic and ingenious in their usage of media or communication channels. - Category B - Innovative use of existing media
This category consists of communication projects that innovatively use or upgrade the specifics of a certain medium. - Category C - Direct approaches
This category is intended for communication projects that use direct communication channels for establishing interaction with various target groups (CRM concepts, direct mail, promotion at point-of-sale, events, etc). - Category D - Strategic sponsorship placement
This category includes sponsorship projects that are linked with a specific medium, or communication projects designed to support a specific event, project or individual target groups. - Category E - Bright media
This category involves communication projects which transform things or factors that primarily have a different function, into a medium or a communication channel.
Notes
The usage of media within a specific communication project applied under category A, can also be submitted under categories B, C, D and E. However, to do that you need to fill out a separate application form and pay separate application fees.
The organiser reserves the right to change the category of a submitted project.
The applicant bears the exclusive responsibility for the authenticity of the data in the application form and the contents of the submitted project.
If the submitted project makes it on the short list the applicant shall prepare a ten-minute presentation of a project for the participants of the seminar. The applicant allows the organiser to publish the submitted project for promotional needs of the seminar.

Entry requirements
Please enclose the following with the entry form:
- 1 CD recorded in Microsoft Power Point Program / MS Office including a description of the media action (starting points, communication strategy, media strategy and tactics, results…) and all communication means in the following form:
- TV ads: MPEG-1 format, resolution 320 x 240 pixels
- Print ads, posters and promotional publications: JPEG format RGB
- Radio ads: WAV format 44100 Hz 16 BIT STEREO
- Web sites: some web sites pictures (max. 5) in JPEG format RGB
- Presentation of the entry according to the technical requirements stated in the entry form
- Copy of the entry form and payment receipt

Regulations
- The media strategy competition can be entered by strategists, planners, agencies, and media and clients of communication projects. The competitors can enter work launched between November 1, 2005 and the end of October 2006.
- An entry is any media project complete in content, execution and time. If the entrant registers several projects for the same trade mark or client, each has to be registered and paid for as a single entry.
- In the SEMPLER competition only those entries which have been registered before the deadline, in the required form and having paid the entry fee will be considered.
- All registered works will be digitally presented to participants of the Seminar on Media Planning SEMPL 9, for which special computers will be available. Short-listed entries will be presented to the audience within a special programme in the main hall.
- The entries will be judged by a jury of seven competent members appointed by the organizers of the competition.
- The jury will make a shortlist selection from all the entries. In the second run the jury will choose the best work from among the finalists of each competing category and award it the GOLDEN SEMPLER. From those entries judged the best in each individual category the overall winner will be chosen and will be given the GRAND SEMPLER award. Each work can receive only one award. The jury is not obliged to bestow awards for all categories.
